I'm working with PSP9, so my comments always correspond to PSP9.
But they shouldn't be sooo different from PSP8.

Making a Blocks Background

Ok, some of you would like to know how I made this background. It was the result of playing around with some Plugins.

Filter you need: Xenofex 1.1

Open a new transparent image 400x400. Floodfill with white (or color of your joice). Add a new raster layer. Activate your selection tool and select the part you want the blocks to be (must not be a rectangle, can be any selection). Floodfill with black. Deselect.

Go to Xenofex 1.1 "STAMPER" and add the "Andy Warhol" Effect;

do this one more time, this time add the "Atari 2600" Effect.

Now with your selection tool cut out some rows of the blocks.

Add your image on a new raster layer. Duplicate this layer. Mirror. On the layer palette set Blend Mode to "Screen".

Add some nice brushes to the layer with the blocks.

That's it, you're done.

more to come!
